| May 22, 2024 12:00 AM

The Montana Department of Transportation and LHC Inc. anticipate completing paving on the northern segment of the Swan Lake Pavement Preservation project on Montana 83. Once paving is complete, additional work will begin to install rumble strips, striping, and signage as well as bump grinding.

The week of May 20, travelers can expect paving between mile markers 70 and 78, installation of rumble strips, striping, and signage, as well as bump grinding. Anticipate single-lane closures, 10 to 15-minute delays, temporary traffic lights, and pilot cars. Typical working hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Download MDT’s mobile app “MDT 511” or visit 511mt.net and check your route. If you’re driving and want to check in, pull safely off the road and dial 511. Tune in to local radio stations and watch for variable message signs along the route.

MDT along with construction partner Highmark Traffic Services, Inc., will be applying epoxy striping on Montana Highway 35 and U.S. 93, beginning the week of May 27, weather and other factors permitting. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of June.

The project on Montana 35 begins at the intersection with U.S. 93 and extends approximately 18 miles north, ending near mile marker 18, just north of Yellow Bay State Park. The project on US 93 begins just north of the Polson Bridge at mile marker 61 and extends 25 miles north to mile marker 86, just south of Rollins.

Travelers can expect 10 to 15-minute delays. For the most up-to-date width restrictions and road conditions visit 511mt.net
