Speech and debate starts season strong

Bigfork High School Speech and Debate competed in Stevensville on Saturday, winning second place in Class A drama sweepstakes. 

“Every member of the team we took to the meet made it to finals which is unheard of,” coach Shirley Stine said. 

Results are as follows:

Mime:  Jaime Newton 2nd Place

Humorous Solo:  Tripp Hagen 1st Place, Reese Nadeau 3rd Place

Dramatic Interpretation:  Micah Butler 3rd Place, Jake Baldi  5th Place

Dramatic Solo:  Rylee Wood 1st Place

Duo Interpretation:  Cy Devlin & Madeline Pomeroy  1st Place, Oliva Close & Baldi  2nd Place

Humorous Interpretation:  Brody Henion 1st place

Impromptu:  Pomeroy 2nd Place

Bigfork also had 4 students advance to finals at Columbia Falls on Nov 9.

Duo Interpretation: Jake Baldi and Olivia Close 3rd place, Cy Devlin & Madeline Pomeroy 5th place

Humorous Interpretation: Brody Henion 3rd place

Impromptu: Madeline Pomeroy 5th place
