Rare carnivore monitoring presentation at Swan Valley Community Hall, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Swan Valley Connection’s quarterly community potluck, featuring a presentation by Luke Lamar and Mike Mayernik, who will both be discussing the results from 10 years of wolverine and Canada lynx monitoring in the Southwest Crown of the Continent. Presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.
Free community dinner at Bethany Lutheran Church, 6 p.m.
Owl Research Institute Saw-whet owl banding at Flathead Lake Biological Station, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Researchers will do a short presentation to explain the process, then check the mist nets. Community Firewood Day, meet at Swan Valley Connections office at 9 a.m. for mandatory safety meeting. We’ll be splitting, delivering, and stacking for a full list of people in need in the community. BYO lunch/snacks, ear and eye protection, and gloves. Volunteer BBQ to follow sponsored by Mannix Family Grass-Finished Beef!
