REzMaDe artist reception comes to Bigfork Library

| September 18, 2024 12:00 AM

A VOICE (Art Vision & Outreach in Community Education) along with the Fine Art and Digital Design Technology Departments at Salish Kootenai College (SKC) are proud to present REzMaDe: photographs by SKC and Two Eagle River School photographers from the Flathead Nation.

Salish Kootenai College offers a variety of analog and digital based camera-work classes throughout the school year. In a hands-on learning environment, students explore, practice, and create work that is meaningful and important to them. Our Community Record Two Eagle River School, which is central to the work at A VOICE, is a collaborative project between photographer David J. Spear and Two Eagle River School in Pablo, MT, a Tribal middle and high school serving Native American students living on the Flathead Nation. Through storytelling and photographic studies, Our Community Record teaches these students to explore and document their community, culture, and history.

The REzMaDe exhibit, featuring work from both SKC and Two Eagle River School photographers, runs through Nov. 8, exclusively at the new Bigfork library. The community is invited to an artist reception to celebrate this powerful exhibit of work on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Bigfork library located at 186 Bridge St in Bigfork, MT. This exhibit is sponsored by A VOICE, Bigfork Arts and Cultural Center, and the ImagineIF Library Foundation.

Flathead County Library provides educational and recreational materials, programs, and resources to promote literacy, inspire lifelong learning, and enrich the community. For more information, visit www.imagineiflibraries.org.
