Informational meetings planned for U.S. 93 Polson-Somers corridor study
The Montana Department of Transportation in partnership with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, Federal Highway Administration, local jurisdictions, resource agencies, and the public, is developing a corridor study of US Highway 93 between Polson and Somers, Montana.
The U.S. 93 Polson-Somers Corridor Study is a planning study that allows for coordination with the public, stakeholders, and environmental resource agencies before any future design or construction projects are initiated. The goal of the study is to identify short- and long-term improvements to address transportation safety, operations, and geometric concerns based on the needs identified. The study will help ensure an efficient transition from transportation planning to future project development and environmental review, if any, based on need and funding availability.
The state is hosting additional informational meetings to present initial improvement options identified for the corridor. In-person open house meetings will be held at two locations on two separate dates. Attendees will have an opportunity to view exhibits and talk with study representatives; no presentation will be provided. The format and content of each meeting will be the same.
