Vera Louise (Adams) Roth, 93
Vera Louise (Adams) Roth departed her earthly existence Thursday evening, Jan. 30, 2025, in search of the answer to the great mystery of what happens after death. She passed at age 93, at her residence in Kalispell.
Vera was born at home in Yankton, Oregon, on April 26, 1931. Vera's mother, Vera Dale Peck Adams, passed from scarlet fever when Vera was just two weeks old. Vera's father, Hugh James Adams, was a professional wrestler who traveled the circuit to make a living; Vera was mainly raised by her grandmother, Eva Wilson Peck Lundin.
Vera graduated from St. Helens High School in 1948. She had been dating Irving LeRoy Roth of Warren, Oregon. In 1950 they eloped in a 1937 Ford and were married Sept. 30, in Port Angeles, Washington. That's where Vera had her first taste of frog legs!
Several years after her mother's death, her father married Lurie Welsh. Hugh and Lurie started Adams Mobile Home Sales in Shoshoni, Wyoming. Vera and Irv opened another Adams Sales in Green River, Wyoming in 1952. During their 50 years in business they expanded, adding travel trailers, parts, service and mobile home parks.
In 1955, Vera gave birth to their son, Larry Lee, and in 1957 Shelley Louise joined the family.
After Larry's passing in 2002, Vera and Irv moved permanently to Bigfork to be near their daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons. Unfortunately, Irv passed in 2005; Vera remained in her Bigfork home until 2019, at which time she moved to Buffalo Hill Terrace in Kalispell. She lived there independently in her own apartment, meeting and making new friends.
Vera was a member of the Monday Morning Group in Green River, the Rowdy Bunch Book Club in Bigfork and the Buffalo Gals in Kalispell. She was also a member of the United Church of Christ in Green River and a member of The Methodist Church in Bigfork.
Vera was a lifelong member of the Democratic Party. She was very proud of her husband, Irv, serving Wyoming as a State Representative for three terms. Vera is extremely grateful she didn't have to live through another Trump presidency.
Vera was always a forward thinker. She read an article about coming back as a flower and discovered Recompose in Seattle. There her remains will return to earth and nature; she will return to us as soil and will become the most beautiful flower garden year after year!
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and her son-in-law, George Hilling.
Vera is survived by daughter, Shelley and grandsons, Josh (Ali), Dillon (Lisa), and Sam, stepsister, Donna Collins. many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Though Vera is no longer physically with us, her spirit lives on. We'll miss her beautiful smile, always lighting up a room. We'll miss her laughter and her sense of humor. Vera was beautiful. Vera was kind. Vera was strong.
A celebration of life for Vera will be held sometime this summer, when she can also attend as the most beautiful floral arrangements ever! In honor of Vera, please consider making a donation in her name to Planned Parenthood, 1643 Lewis Ave. Suite 211, Billings, MT 59102; or to the foundation or cause of the donor's choice.
Funeral arrangements have been made through Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.
