The 87th Annual Cherry Growers’ Meeting is slated for April 5 at the Yellow Bay Community Clubhouse on Montana 35.

Presented by the Flathead Lake Cherry Growers Association, the meeting is open to anyone interested in growing quality Flathead cherries. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., and the meeting begins at 9 a.m.

Keynote speaker, Tianna DuPont, associate professor with the WSU Extension, will give an in-depth presentation on what soil health metrics are important for orchards, including management practices geared toward improving overall soil health. Emerging pathogen problems that growers need to watch for will also be discussed. Morning and afternoon sessions allow time for Q&A.

The day includes presentations of interest to local cherry growers and the opportunity to meet with agencies that connect with orchard owners. Networking with experienced Flathead cherry growers gives orchard owners an opportunity to learn how others develop successful orchard practices unique to this area.

Advance registration is recommended. General admission is $30 per person and includes morning refreshments and lunch. If space is still available, registrations will be accepted at the door for $35 per person.
