Bigfork Bridge truss to be placed April 1

St. Patrick’s Day brought the delivery of the new Bridge Street Bridge truss to the project site on Monday, March 17.
The Montana Department of Transportation and Battle Ridge Builders have already begun assembling the truss. Each side will be assembled and placed separately on the new foundation, spanning the Swan River. Once they are placed, crews will connect them and install the remaining pieces.
Placement of the side pieces is expected to occur on Tuesday, April 1.
Other work planned includes pouring concrete for the retaining wall on the north side of the river, as well as some excavation work.
All work is subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
Crews will be onsite Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
