Bigfork tracksters punch ticket to state meet

Bigfork High School athletes delivered a series of standout performances at the Western A Divisional Track and Field Championships in Polson on May 16-17, with several Vikings and Valkyries finishing in the top six and securing spots at the upcoming State A meet.

In the sprints, Quinn Kerr earned fifth place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.65 and placed sixth in the 200 meters with a mark of 23.55. Kerr also contributed to Bigfork’s fourth-place 4x100 relay team alongside Tayden West, Austin Savik, and Robert Merchant, clocking a time of 44.34 seconds.

Bigfork’s 4x400 relay team—Noah Padina, Sean Cotman, Austin Savik, and Tayden West—to a sixth-place finish in 3:34.36.

Austin Savik added a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (15.78) and contributed to both sprint relay squads, demonstrating Bigfork’s strength in both individual and team events.

In the field events, Tamret Savik soared to second place in the boys’ high jump with a mark of 6-2 and captured the divisional title in the triple jump with a leap of 44-4.5, tying for first place. Jack Lucke earned fifth in triple jump (41-2.75), showcasing Bigfork’s depth in jumps.

On the girls' side, Millie Hall took third in the shot put with a throw of 34-7.25 and fifth in the discus with a 99-6 mark.
